The RSGB Contests Committee is
responsible to the Board for all aspects of the Society's HF and VHF
contests. It is staffed by volunteers, all of whom are keen contesters.
The committee meets regularly to decide policy, organise, adjudicate
and report on RSGB contests that take place each year. In formulating
HF contest policy, the Committee works closely with other RSGB
committees and with the contest organisers of other IARU
societies.
On 26th November 2006, the decision was taken to merge the Society's HF
and VHF contests committees under a single chairman. Members of the two
committees are pooling their knowledge and experience, but the
day-to-day administration of the Society's contest programme continues
to reflect a split between HF and VHF/UHF, and the two former
committees' web sites remain separate for the time being. Rather than
make numerous updates, you will continue to see references throughout
this site to 'HFCC', not least in the name of the site itself.
