Official HF. Contest Results.
2E1OIC First contest and had a great time roll
on 2004 The XYL will call and I will log next year Found
SDI to be an excellent programme Everyone with whom I made
contact were very correct A big thank to all behind the
scenes after contest end.
2E1SIS My OM M0OIC and I planned to do the contest
together but conditions were so poor that we each went our
separate ways. I only worked a few but it was enjoyable
and I look forward to better conditions on the band in 2005.
4S7NI CONTACTED FEW STATIONS WITH A DIPOLE ANTENNA
AND LOW POWER. WISH TO IMPROVE NEXT YEAR
4Z5KZ See you next time
5B/I2JJR/QRP This is my first ever IOTA and
contest. My last contest was back in 1963 as Mountain Top
Homebrewed Tube Rigs AM V-UHF contest 2nd operator by I1CHN
..... I hope to compile the log exactly. My aim is not to
win (!!!?!!!hi).
5B4AFB Very poor conditions
5B4AHA Plenty of activity as usual. Thanks to
all concerned for running the contest.
5B4PRC A great weekend in the mountains with
the local Radio Club
7K2PBB My favourite 10m band seems like sleepin'
deeply indeed. 20 Am only 10Wer and 3rd class licensed in
JA, Even UA0 seems so far from here (Honshu-Island, AS007)
now. BT MNI TNX 4 UR works, 73 GL
9A0CI Mt Murphy took the controls even on Thursday
afternoon at the antenna work. Actually I was surprised
to see that we have passed last years score.
9A0R We have a very nice time on island Krk
again. This year we put even more antennas as last years
but condx was not good enough to make a better score .....Thanks
to all calling us and I hope to see
next year to in this nice contest.
9A1TA I must say there was a lot of problems,
a wind crashed tribander and ruin 40m 1element to half on
Saturday morning b4 the contest so we operated only with
verticals.
9A2004YC It was a very nice contest during the
1st WWYC meeting. We had a lot of fun but the highband conditions
were very bad.
9A5KV Thanks for a nice contest! I will be back
next year.
9A7T/P Nice contest as always. We had some heavy
QRN second day and had to be QRT for almost 2 hrs. We have
bettered our score for 400 k, 50 mults more than last year.
See you all agn next year.
9V1GO Band conditions not good, ten completely
dead, fifteen spotty, twenty was OK, forty was a mess. Again,
all mouth and no ears was the norm for the EU contest stations.
9V1RH Propagation not good particularly on July
25 On Sunday afternoon here both 15 and 20 were completely
devoid of signals except 9V + 9M2.
9V1UV Propagation condx was poor
AA1CA Super contest - terrible propagation!
AA4V/P We started with heavy rain and lightning
from a tropical depression....conditions were marginal but
we were pleased that we had a bit of an opening on 15 ...conditions
gradually went away until there was not much left to work
that we could hear...QRN from storms
BW9W Took 3 hours fixed the Triband w/ 2 ele
Yagi (40m) both on the military surplus crank-up mast-tower
which was struck down by strong wind on the first Contest
night. Fortunately sufficient manpower facilitate the Contest
keep going with alternative vertical CT1DHM Better every
year! Thanks to all.
CT1EGW DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME TO BE ON THE RADIO,
BUT ENJOYABLE PEOPLE ON THE AIR
CT9X We suffered very much from bad conditions
on Sunday: The planetary A index was 122 on Sunday, 31 the
next day, and 162 on Tuesday. This caused radio blackouts
on the HF bands and a high noise level too. Sorry, if we
couldn't copy you!
CU2YK Some "om" breaking one of my
pile-up with some recording tape. This situation was not
good for the true om and yl who wanted to "make"
EU003. I'm sorry!!!
DB1WDA it was my first hf-contest I did it just
for fun
DC1HPS/P Thanks for nice Contest !!!
DF0TX/P Very basic camping in the wilderness....Station
setup in field day style.
DF1IAQ Dr OMs Thank you for the nice contest.
See you again in 2005!
DH5HV First IOTA from home QTH with TH7DX and
just small wire antenna for 20 40m. No real antenna for
80m. All performed well, especially N1MM’s logger
with big support also during (!!!) the contest. TNX everybody.
DJ0IP Used this contest as to test new radio
TenTec ORION
DJ1AA This year I was QRV only the first 12
hours. Strange dx condx on 10m. Some strong stations and
after a couple of QSOs nothing more. I hope to be QRV next
year from an island again. Until next year 2005. VY 73 Mirko
DJ1AA / AB0DL / 5Z4HU.
DJ2QV condx got worse and worse due to the aurora
activity. Lucky to catch some 10m IOTAs right at the beginning.
Later on 10m almost totally dead
DJ5DT/P high noise level, unable to hear weak
signals
DJ6TK "Hi Guys, it was funny to work in
the IOTA Test again"
DK8OL bad condx, very slow going
DL0HGW/P Activity from Vilm Island with first
time short wave activity, this island is wildlife reservation
since 1990, during transfer by boat our linear got problems
so we worked with 100 watt during the contest.
DL0KWH/P Nice contest once again - but the ionosphere
collapsed; aurora & CME hit us in the second part of
the contest, see you next year!
DL0PCK/QRP tnx to all participants and mngrs
I used the contest to try SDI to log online: FB!
DL2FK It is always a great pleasure for me to
work Iota. But sometimes the family has no time.
DL3YBM Had no strategy prior to entering the
contest other than to have some fun and test the setup for
this year's WAE. Almost everything I tested did not work!
Severe software problems were present the whole weekend.
In the end I threw out the new keyboard
DL4JYT nice see you next year
DL4MCF TNX to everybody for calling - bad condx
and thunderstorms made it very difficult - but again lot
of fun - see you all next year with hopefully better condx!
DL5AUA/P I was qrv from the Lighthouse of Neuwerk;
but many qrm - local and bad condx. QSO's valid for EU127
and also for GIA: N-12; for ARLHS: FED-165; for GLHA: 38
and for WLH: 2311 - hope next year with better condx and
maybe with other antennas - tnx to all for
DL5CX/P HAVE MISCOUNTED MY NUMBERS, FORGOT NR
77 AND GAVE TWICE NR 86, SRI BUT THATS FIELDDAY CONDS WITHOUT
PC, BUT TERRIBLE MOSKITOS !
DL5SWB Poor conds, very hard with indoor antenna
(ATAS-120) and 50 wtts.
DL6KVA "I think the difficulties with the
condx felt everybody. Haven't seen such worse condx for
any contest in my 20 years of amateur radio. Additionally
find out that this was definitely the last time I used SDI
(after several years) for contest logging.
DL7FA condx was not good for me but at least
I work a few island stations ..I really like to participate
in the IOTA Island.
DL7VSN I worked under my own rules only cw/only
multipliers and only each call sign one time - not so much
points but fun
DL8MBS Wanted to test a new sloping dipole in
the backyard as new qrp-antenna. Blamed the antenna first
for the rough going... Respect to all who endured the condx
for more hours!
EA1AAW good contest
EA1BZP VERY POOR CONDITIONS VERY NOICE IN THE
20 METERS BAND BUT THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING CONTEST
EA2RU VERY NICE CONTEST
EA3FHC My first IOTA test- a lot of fun despite
bad condx
EA4DUT My first IOTA contest. Congratulations
to winners and the organization of this event
EA4FL/P Many stations but, very bad conditions.
EA4PL Bands became completely dead at night
:-(
EA5BWR/M Many thanks to all stations that let
me to contact with them, good luck to everybody. 73
EA5OL No much time this year and bad propagation
on my side.
EA5YJ I hope work more time next year,
EA6TU My first try in the IOTA contest, very
funny and nice pile up during the short time I have been
on air, due to my work. For the next edition I will try
with better antenna system, this year only GP or Dipole
for 20. See you on the next contest.
E I4CF Conditions were odd especially Sunday
morning. Was trying out a new rig and have much to learn!!
EI7IQ Thanks to Paul O'Kane EI5DI for the excellent
SDI Iota Contest Logging Software. Thanks to RSGB for organising
the contest. Thanks to all stations in the contest for QSOs
and Multipliers.
EI8IR Conditions were poor from here, but enjoyed
the contest nonetheless.. tnx to those who travelled for
this contest...
EJ2MT Bristol (G6YB) and East Cork (EI7M) joined
forces to form the Bere Island Group - EJ2MT. HF conditions
were terrible and Western Europe was not the place to be.
We lost out on a lot of Asia/Pacific multipliers only managing
a few QSOs with Japan.
EJ4F Hard work running low power but great fun
nevertheless
ER2RM TNX FOR FB CONTEST!
ES0MC "Not too serious effort had an evening
sauna and several hours sleep during the night. Conditions
were rather poor, so practically only EU contacts due to
my LP and wire antennas. That's why my mult is rather modest
also.
ES4MM TNX FER CONTEST!
F/PC2T Did little over 12 hours to keep the
other camping guests happy, but liked it very much to work
IOTA from a Camping. Would appreciate it very much if the
IOTA's I worked with this CEPT call would count for my personal
IOTA award.
F6IRF A couple of hours just for the practice.
Very poor conditions...
F6KOP/P Nice island. Beautiful weather. Great
BBQs by our host F9IE. Lots of fun! See you next year in
the contest.
F8CFE/P Backpack/battery operated (little) dxpedition.
Unable to be QRV on 40 and 20m as announced. sri, next time.
Anyway, I had fun, and great view on the ""Mont
Saint Michel""!"
G0GFQ Conditions a real struggle with heavy
QSB. Virtually no propagation above 20M's on 25-07-2004
after a promising start with 10M open it soon plummeted!
G0MRH Band conditions were really terrible for
my station In addition my logging programme didn't help
Thanks to all the Eastern Europe countries for being interested
in IOTA 2004
G0TLA Enjoyed our first HF Contest One Comment
to note some stations do not give their call signs often
enough also they do not acknowledge receipt of your information
and clarify theirs. Looking forward to next Contest. We
Have the Bug.
G0UKX Callsign idents better than in recent
years Very little DX audible in my location QSB very severe
G0VAX Not very good band conditions
G0WBR My first IOTA. Wow what an experience
just a shame conditions were poor especially on 10 metres
but a lot learned and will definitely try to better my qso
rate next year
G2AFV DX stns hard to find Vy high noise level
G3GLL Just a token entry this year. HF band
conditions poor
G3LHJ Good W/E condx about right for time of
low sun spots just 1 Q on 10M lots of points for the IOTA
2004 award struggled with a low LF LW as gales brought it
down last week .CU NEXT YEAR" god willing.
G3RR/P Good fun weekend social event along with
some operating allowing some new licensees a taste of contesting
G3TXF Was in two minds over whether to have
a go at MIXED, but when it came to getting the 80m dipole
to work at BOTH ends of the band, decided to stick to a
CW-only entry. Despite poor conditions (where was the US
and Japan on 20 HF?) there was still enough
G3VQO This contest has never caught my imagination
- hence the gaps when I wandered off!!! No activity on Sunday
due to work.
G3VYE Licensed for nearly 40 years but this
is the first time I have had a go in this contest. Limited
time and inadequate aerial(s) resulted in a low score so
I will be near the bottom of the listings. Even I so enjoyed
it and cannot think why I didn't have a go before.
G3YEC Remind me in future to say NO to visitors
for the IOTA weekend. They always want to know what you
are doing! Even for that very enjoyable as usual.
G3YMC To say conditions were lousy was an understatement;
I nearly gave up after the first hour! Certainly nothing
special in the way of DX... But it picked up somewhat later
and I quite enjoyed it. Decided to do the 12 hours in a
single stretch.
G3ZRJ Family commitments limited operations
Condx were pretty rough
G4BGW Band condx awful - so repaired the garden
gate! log submitted as check log only
G4BVJ/P Pleased with the performance of my Ten-Tec
Omni VI with a Butternut HF6V Vertical however conditions
were poor and worked hard to make 625 QSO's. Enjoyed the
setup with my new MFJ259B analyser!
G4DBW Great fun - conditions for QRP operation
not very good - pleased to support RSGB contest for a few
hours.
G4DDL I should have taken my 12 hours on Saturday
Conditions on Sunday appalling I gave up due to boredom
after about 7 and a half hours of operation the long exchange
makes calling CQ quite daunting.
G4FVK I found that conditions weren’t
as good as last year.15m was hard going even for the bigger
stations. Nothing at all was heard on 10m. I normally hear
a lot of French stations on 80 and 40m but this year nothing
at all
G4HZV K index of 7 - oh dear! Still good fun
and 20 held up.
G4WGE/P Expended an awful lot of effort to get
the antennas airborne with disappointing results. Will probably
go for something simpler next year.
G4XPE Conditions 80/40 metres - high qrn and
qsb
G4ZME Poor conditions, unsustainable for QRP
working. Only DX heard VY2/W1MO.
G5W Conditions seemed to start fine, and then
go down hill on the second day. But an enjoyable contest.
Some extreme rubber-clocking heard at the end - up to five
minutes! Noticeable that the unique island references on
the air from the UK had more trade than from EU005.
G5XV EU120 Stenbury Down, Isle of Wight Conditions
seemed to be down, but then the solar flare hit and after
that, they were just plain awful!
G6CSY Where was 10m?
G6M Shame about the flare on Sunday am, 20 condx
very auroral following!
G6PZ We decided at the last minute to enter.
Hard going at times but very enjoyable although conditions
were not great. See you next year.
G8SRC/P Keep the weather fine again next year.
Great fun weekend, we did more QSOs than last year but those
mults are hard to get. Really must brush up the CW!
GI4AAM Conditions difficult here at the moment.
Enjoyed the contest!
GI4TSK Better performance than my previous years
in contest just one of the small guns and the hearings not
what it used to be.
GJ4DBL/P Amazed at the pile-ups, even with 100W
and a wire vertical for 20m at 20' agl
GM0CLN For the first time in several years I
wasn't taking part in a Multi-Multi entry for IOTA. Have
previously enjoyed entering with GM2T (Tiree EU-008), GM5A
(Islay EU-008) and GM4V (Benbecula).
GM0FGI Hard going this year, down side no contacts
on 10m and very few on 15m, highlight working YM0T on 80m.
GM2T We all enjoyed the contest once again from
the Island of Tiree. The Bands were certainly not the best
and it was very hard work for most of the contest due to
the Aurora. Lastly as always the hospitality shown by the
people of Tiree was second to none.
GM2Z The weather on Bute was 20 terrible, strong
wind and heavy rain. My tent just was lying on the ground,
antenna mast was broken fifty-fifty twice.
GM3HAM/P Just a jolly to test gear and to generate
activity
GM4SID Poor conditions and a rubbish entry!
GM4TOQ/P The weather on Bute was terrible, strong
wind and heavy rain.
GM5C Band Conditions very poor and Aurora wiped
out 10m band
GM7TUD thanks to all the teams of island activators,
hope next year to get a full weekend when I don’t
have to work, always good fun chasing IOTA.
GN0ADX/P Band condx poor. Less QSO's compared
to last year.
GU8D Well, we tried our best but obviously not
good enough.
GW0GEI Decided to try 24 hours ssb assisted
this year after winning the 12 hour ssb for the last three
years. DX conditions seemed very poor and the new 20m 4
ele monobander yagi fixed on JA did not have much success
as the only JA worked on 20m was on long path.
GW3SB Conditions were terrible!
GW6HOU/P First time entry. Confined to 20, 15
and 10m for 9.5 hours. Condx much better on first day but
openings on 10m very limited. Nice to work new IOTA and
four new DXCC.
HA1DAE Very hard to work with low power in bad
propagation. Tnx fer islands activations.
HA5AF I enjoyed it
HB9AYZ I PARTICIPATED ONLY SOME HOURES. PROPAGATIONS
FOR 5 WATTS ONLY NOT REALLY GOOD.
HB9DWU Not a lot of time to be QRV. Goemagnetic
disturbances caused a considerable amount of QRN on 20 and
40m."
HB9OCR I've used an ICOM ic706MK2 with a rotary
dipole and a PKW vertical antenna with tuner. Next year
will be better !
HB9VID Fun contest, bad propagation I just hope
to be in the top 50 See you next year, 73, hb9vid
HI3/ON4QX very bad conditions for working, no
electricity on the right moment and no gasoline for the
generator in town at night, we will see for one other IOTA
next year. Tnx for the hospitality of Ted HI3TEJ and his
family .Also tnx to Johan ON4IQ, Erwin HI3NR.
HS0EHF/P This is the first time in IOTA Contest.
It vy fun. Thanks to all QSOs.
HS0ZEE Poor band conditions nothing heard on
10m logger crashed so missed 40m whilst rewriting log Re
submitted contest log. as 12 QSO's missing Apparently I
did not use the up to date version Used V:18 now loaded
V:25
I2WIJ Another effort from my country qth, with
the usual IOTA setup, IC-706 and R7 Vertical antenna.
Very hard being on the wrong side and with those
awful propagation conditions!
IC8M Very nice Iota Contest... see on next edition...
IC8OZM nice experience cu next year
IC8WIC Worst conditions ever, but a lot of fun
as usual. Murphy as second op, with computer crash and 40
meters antenna not working. See you next year!
IK0OTJ very bad wx
IK1BBC not too much time to spend in contest
due to work nice contest anyway I'll be on next year
IK2WFN Poor propagation
IM0/IZ0EJQ Last year(2003), I participated (frankly,
I tried) the IOTA contest from S.Pietro EU165,I was in a
tent, the external temperature hot, so, despite the fan,
my power supply took totally fire about 10 minutes after
the contest starting up. No spares were available.
IN3XUG a terrible storm in first 4' hours contest
we have installed dipole only at 18 gmt.... after... a beautiful
contest see you next year
IS0SDX Good contest also if the cheap propagation
to long distance has limited a satisfactory result of it
good bye to the next ciao ciao to all de Piergiorgio IS0SDX
IT9ORA I am very glad to participate in this
contest, because they are many islands on the air in the
world, IT9RZU MY FIRTS IOTA END VERY EXPERIENCE ON THE AIR
SURE NEXT YEAR
IZ0EHL/0 Tnx for beautiful contest. Not many
points but many many fun. This time had work with a windows
custom made with pleasure. Many new islands for my IOTA
award.
IZ2EJU My first entry in IOTA contest, not much
more than a... test !
IZ7EDQ No good propagation.
IZ8DMZ tnx for good work to rsgb iota thanks.
J45C My first DX pedition Like to do more in
the future Need better antennas
JA1AAT I received no IOTA contest stations on
the 10m band. Conditions not good between Japan and Europe/Africa/North
America/South America. Looking forward to the next IOTA
contest.
JA1BPA The propagation was very poor, and I
had to call for long hours to work any island station located
close to or within Europe due to the very high European
activity. Maybe it is time to introduce an incentive in
the contest rules to persuade participants to work other
continents.
JA1XUY Thank you for nice contest.
JA2KVB It was disappointing solar condition,
so I worked with not so many island stations. Particularly,
after 1730Z I couldn't hear any DX stations. Finally I made
no contact with new ones (EU-071, EU-099, SA-023 or SA-045).
JA3AOP "It was bad propagation condition
because of solar activity. However, I enjoyed IOTA contest.
See you next IOTA contest.
JA8AJE Poor condition but enjoyed to get long
exchanges from IOTA stations.
JG1OWV Station Description: 100W Single transmitter
Kenwood TS570. Wire Antenna mounted at veranda 12th Floor
of 14 stories condominium
JH3AIU I could get some IOTA stations on 40m
for the first time.
JN6RZM I'm very happy to work AS-059 RZ0IWZ/P.
K2KQ Awful band conditions!
K2NUD This was fun, I will try harder next time.
K2RET First time in IOTA contest, Looking forward
to the next one. Thanks to all the stations who listened
up for me. 73' Bob - K2RET
K3MD My first IOTA contest entry.
K3TW Lots of fun for this QRP station.
K4AQ Best QRP DX: (distances per WriteLog database):
242015z M4A, England, 20CW, 4178 mi (836 mi/watt),242022z
ON4UN, Belgium, 20CW, 4376 mi (875 mi/watt), 250055z LU1FZR,
Argentina, 20CW, 5107 mi (1021 mi/watt), Yaesu FT-897 transceiver
K4QCD/P Strange propagation - We had fun and
turned the contest into a 20m IOTA QSO party. We worked
over 450 Qs on 20m ssb and encouraged many stateside people
to make some IOTA contacts. We had an unbelievable number
of 001 and 002 contacts.
K5VG Mobile-to-mobile between Virginia and Corsica
was fun.
K5ZD Conditions were terrible!
K6III Very difficult band conditions.
K8CQ Could only squeeze in a few hours at odd
times, but always happy to work a few with my stealthy gutter
dipole! Surprised a few with my new island number when I
responded to their calls such as VK4TT. There should be
a special category for us CC&R participants.
KG6DX HAD FUN IN MY FIRST IOTA CONTEST IT WON'T
BE MY LAST
KI6MX Second year in contest. Band conditions
poor for West Coast operators. Still had fun and will be
here next year.
KP4JRS Enjoy a lot my 1st IOTA Contest working
the 20m.
KR4M First time participant. Enjoyed contest
but propagation was really bad!!
KU8E/P QTH was St. George Island, Florida, U.S.A.
We had a strong lightning storm that took out power to the
entire island for 5 1/2 hours and cut short our operation.
KV2M Propagation was not good, but had a great
time - thanks!
LS7D No time for contest only few hours for
fun, as I’m moving to VE2 soon, I hope to work next
IOTA from some NA island
LX5A bad condx - see you next year
LZ2BE It was my first IOTA contest, but it will
not be the last!
LZ3SM Good condx first day and surprised short
skip on 15m next day. Tnx for all of you guys for new islands!
See you in IOTA 2005!
M0B First entry for the group into IOTA. Very
much a training session for new ops. As with all field events,
great to sit round the old campfire. Strange sounding QSOs
on 40m overnight, then saw the Aurora spots coming through
the DX Cluster. Oh dear!
M0BAO/P POOR BAND CONDITIONS BUT FUN CONTEST
M0BGR Awful Propagation Conditions!
M0CNP Very hard going this year. Not much heard/worked
outside Europe.
M0OIC Band conditions were very poor little
DX as such This is not a contest entry Hope for better conditions
next year Many thanks for putting on the event
M0PDC Great contest, really enjoyed it. Was
good to see so much IOTA activity. An excellent effort some
people went out to provide a 'new one' and a nice new mult.
M0W first time Wakefield + DRS has done this
contest and submitted an entry We have learned a lot and
enjoyed the contest even though condx were really bad Hope
that the log is ok for our first go at the contest
M2C Weather wonderful. Conditions lousy. What
more do you want?
M3C Great fun. I did not have time for the 24
hours this time. See you next year.
M3RCV First entry into IOTA. Hard to make 5w
heard at the beginning of the contest with all the high
power around but it got better. Hard work but enjoyed it!
M3S Poor conditions on all bands (10M dead!)
and network problems prevented use of multiplier station.
Lot of effort for disappointing result.
M5S condx for phone seemed very poor
M8C Cray Valley RS DXpedition. We all had a
great time and want to go back next year. See http://ourworld.compuserve.co.uk/g4buo/m8c.html
MM0Q Enjoyable as always but would like to suggest
some rule changes as there is NO incentive to travel to
remote northerly islands and spend hundreds of pounds for
little return. IOTA is about working island stations. Please
increase the points differential.
MM3AWD Propagation poor, and found it difficult
with 5W. Had some problems with logging system, so I have
lost about 10,000 points.
MM3JHS First time in an IOTA contest, great
fun. Conditions not perfect, will be back!!!
MU3GSY My first entry for this contest. Very
poor conditions
N1DX Used vertical dipoles this year, with 20M
configured as a 4-square. Friday PM we were hopeful of good
condx, but.....The drive-on island isn't as exotic as ferrying,
but makes things simpler.
N1XC Had a blast just wish I had more time to
operate. The portable vertical works great when the radials
are in the brine! Thanks for a wonderful time.
N2GC POOR CONDITIONS MADE FOR A VERY FRUSTRATING
TIME. CU NEXT YEAR.
N4GG Enjoyed it very much, despite very poor
condx.
N4MM Conditions not very good. Signals weak,
low participation. Got one new IOTA in contest.
N4PN SORRY CONDX WERE SO BAD....VERY UNFORTUNATE..LOOK
FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR WHEN I CAN OPERATE AT MY CONTEST STATION
ON ST. GEORGE ISLAND, FLORIDA (NA-085). BUSINESS PREVENTED
MY OPERATION FROM THERE THIS YEAR.
N5LYG Band conditions stunk but still had fun.
N5PU Wish I had more time to spend in test!
N6VR Absolutely the worst condx in years!
Worked only one European, CU3EE. We did have fun otherwise.
N7XY Conditions here were very poor. I
had planned to enter in the QRP category, but results were
quite disappointing even at 100 watts.
N8II Condx started out at low normal (poor
to Asia) and by 21Z were horrible. 20M closed to Eu by 2230Z
and 40M peaked to EU BEFORE sunset! By 0130 few Eu were
left on 40M. 75/80 surprisingly open to Eu, but poor activity.
I eked out a few new IOTA's.
NC2N The best conditions ever seen...
OD5RMK Please visit http://www.qsl.net/ik1qbt/ramkin_index.htm
OE1WEU Sorry for bad format, it’s
my first entry in IOTA test .. I am using SuperDuper and
Logkonverter, but could not fix the problem ..
OE8WOQ I was only able to operate on 20m...
but nice contest
OH0Y/6 Thanks for the nice contest! I
was just having fun this time!
OH4MFA My first entry to IOTA contest
and first contest with Elecraft K2 in QRP category. Aurora
messed up conditions, so did not operate too much during
night time. Nice contest because you can try to work anyone,
hopefully better conditions next year.
OH5PA The conditions extremely poor during
the contest. Hope better luck next year!
OH6NIO The 12 hour category was ideal
for me because I couldn't have been able to participate
full 24 hours. This contest was pure fun!
OK1ABB No contest here, only few interesting
QSOs made. Terrible conds mainly at Sunday. Wishing the
better one at next year for this nice contest.
OK1CZ "Condx were horrible. Hope
to do better next year.
OL4M Happy to take part with my 77 years.
OL6P BAD CONDX, BUT NICE CONTEST.
OM2SM I HAVE POOR RADIO FOR CONTESTING
HI
OM3YK Tnx fer nice contest Vy 73
ON4ACA nice contest, see you next year.
ON5WL Very good activity but poor condx
on 15 and 10 m. Nice contest and I worked some new IOTA's.
Till next year.
OY1CT Condx lousy after Saturday evening, on Sunday the
bands went totally dead in periods.
OZ/DL2JRM/P Thanks for this very nice
contest. It is a highlight every year. Next year qrv with
better antennas for DX.
OZ0J Antenna MFJ-1786. Output approx.
50 Watt. The antenna needs a check cause to high SWR on
20M. This log is approx. what I could hear and work during
the contest when I was in the mood to try the radio. Hope
to work from another QTH next year.
OZ8AE A weekend with very poor condx.
It started very good Saturday at 1200 UTC when I worked
OY1CT as my first station on ten. But condx changed and
I had to QSY to 15 then 20 meters. Very soon I had "local"
QRM and stopped after almost 3 hours operating.
PA0ABM/P Nice to take part for first time.
See You next year
PA0IJM Have fun with the control of the
incoming logs
PA0RRS on July 25 only few minutes time
between job work
PA3GNZ First time in this contest
PA5GU 2nd year I participated. Nice to
meet also other IOTA island that I did not meet last year."
PA7RA tnx for nice Contest hope to work
more next year
PA9ZZ Poor conditions but great fun!
PB2T/P Glad to submit our log also this
year. The group which operated for 3 years as PI4HQ changed
its callsign to PB2T/P. Our QTH was back on Goeree island
where we were the guest of the local sea scouts. PG2D variable
conditions bad stations only giving QRZ. Call only once
in 10 QSO's for me it's fun to get min. 100 QSO's Thanks
for organisation and log-check
PT2BW Extremely bad propagation on 10m...
Could not copy anybody.
PY4FQ Thanks for nice contest.
PY6KY PARABÉNS PELO CONTESTE MUITO
FELIZ EM TER PARTICIPADO
PY7EG Very good contest, but no propagation
for me hi hi!! 73's
PY7OJ Tks FB Test.
RA0FF Wkd without 21MHz, sorry.
RA6AR 3 new IOTA's (having about 800 worked)
- not so bad even under such awful condx! Thanks to all!
RI0MC There are no HAM on this Island.
Travel to this Island is by boat only. Electric generator
gating to Island by the boat.
RK0FWL/P Beautiful trip + HAM Spirit -
what can be better?
RK9CWW Submitting the log without using
web is the most challenging part of this IOTA. Sorry, only
email here.
RW0BG 24 July - my birthday. Thanks to
organisers for every year birthday gift :)
RX3RC Thanks!
RZ9OW The propagation was very bad!
S50R Last year was more fun (I was on
Island 9A7P)!
S51DX Just give points away with the loop
antenna for 80m.
SK0HS/5 Poor conditions and thus difficult
with just 1 element
SK7MQ Nice wx, bad conds!
SM0ELV/5 Tnx fer all help to adjust my
log from a very nice weekend on a nice Island worked for
the first time.
SM2LIY Bad HF-conds all the contest. 2m
should have been included this year. Good Aurora opening.
Think it’s the first contest ever that no JA:s or
K:s are logged....
SM6YEC This was my first IOTA contest.
It was very fun! Thanks for a nice contest.
SM7BJW Never worked any contest in such
bad propagation. Got a few good dx though - ZL and YB (Took
me half an hour). Very good activity from UK stations. Had
fun all the time.
SP1EK It was again nice to take part of
IOTA RSGB Contest I started two years ago and took 55 place
on the World I hope that in next year I’ll start fully
24H Mixed Best Regards and Good DX
SP5XSD AFTER 70 QSO I MUST CHANGE SOFTWARE
IT WAS UNEXPECTED SURPRISE... NICE CONTEST...
SV1BRL/8 IT BECAME A TRADITION FOR ME
TO PARTICIPATE IOTA CONTEST.MAKES ME HAPPY TO HEAR GOOD
FRIENDS AND GIVE SOME MULTIPLIERS TO
OTHER PARTICIPANTS. FOR SURE SEE YOU NEXT YEAR. IT IS FUN
88KIKI
SV3SJ/P "Decided to go to Proti Island
just the day before the contest. A very emotional moment
going back to my childhood years, close to the place where
I was grown up. Had a great time though a bit stressful
to get on air the soonest possible. Just 14h of operation.
SV8/OK2WH 73 to all IOTA friends from
Greece island THASSOS, Vit OK2WH.
SV8/OL8R My second try in IOTA contest.
Results better than year ago. Still weak part is lack of
high numbers of mults. See you next year
SV8DTP Propagation was terrible all the
way-long especially on Sunday morning (never before heard
40m band so quiet, needless to comment the situation on
15m and 10m). A lot of activity in 20m band and difficult
to stay in one place for too long with only 100W
SV9/G4DHF Activity was very good on the
Saturday but the major flare on the Sunday morning caused
a complete radio black out for one hour. Conditions on HF
never really recovered. Otherwise an enjoyable contest.
TF4MM My rhombic antenna worked well although
propagation was very poor.
TF7/LX9EG/M Lousy propagation into the
north but enjoyed Iceland as every time.
TK/IK1RAC Not a lot of time to operate
but fairly good conditions and fun. See you next year.
TM4Z 10M DEAD WILL CERTAINLY DO BETTER
NEXT YEAR
UA0ACG Tnx all fer Contest
UA3AGW Was not doing it for serious effort
with high QSO rates but rather concentrating on Islands,
:-) Thanks for a nice chance to increase the IOTA score.
Great Contest! See you next year!
UA4AGO GOOD LUCK!!!
UA9CDC THIS CONTEST IS NOT DESIGNED FOR
PARTICIPANTS LIKE ME. THE NEAREST ISLAND IS AT LEAST 3000
KM FROM HERE AND THERE IS NO INCENTIVE FOR MOST OF THE PARTICIPANTS
TO WORK DISTANT STATIONS. NO POINT SINCE EU TO EU QSO GIVE
THE SAME NUMBER OF POINTS AS EU TO DX
UR3IQO Used 20W rig and two band vertical
20 antenna 10m high. Nice contest.
UR7EQ Very good contest. Thanks.
UR7EU Tnx for nice test!
UR7EZ This was my first try in this contest.
I use was dipole 20 meters high and Druzhba-M transceiver
with PA - 200W output. I had a nice trial but steel need
to approve my antenna or have some new kind of. Nevertheless,
it was nice to QSO so many different IOTAs
US1MM Good contest! 73!
UT2IWT/P AZ 01 for Ukrainian island award.
UU2JQ Thank to all great operators for
the fun! I was hunting for the RZ0IWZ/P but did not work
them.
UU7J/P Great activity, lot of islands.
CONDX were not too bad.
UX0ZX FB CONTEST! NEXT IN 2005!
V31MX Qth Caye Caulker, Belize. C.A. IOTA
NA-073) Antennas 80, 20, 15, dipoles. Transportation to
the island via water taxi only, 15 miles from main land.
Had multi power outages of 30 to 45 minutes afternoon operation.
VA3JFF MY FIRST IOTA CONTEST. LOOKING
FORWARD TO ADDING TO MY TOTALS AGAIN NEXT YEAR.
VA7ST Big aurora here on Saturday night.
HF mostly wiped out -- no real 40m except first few hours
of contest. Had fun searching and calling. Thanks to all
who heard me!
VE1DX Bands were not good with A 40 and
K 4 and 5. Lots of activity in spite of poor condx!
VE1JS Conditions were TERRIBLE!!!!!! It
seemed as if the Gods of Propagation suddenly made North
American signals incompatible with European receivers. C'est
la vie The single element per band rule MUST GO. This is
ridiculous nonsense
VE1RGB Very poor conditions here. Propagation
was up and down, mostly down, and high QRN. Gave up after
12 hours! Still, this is a fun contest. One never knows
what they will trip over.
VE2OWL The geomagnetic conditions as well
as some fatigue prevented me from operating more during
the contest.
VE3GHK HF CONDITIONS AFTER 02:30 UTC ON
07/25 WERE VERY POOR
VE3MGY "Only operated for a couple
of hours but I couldn't believe how bad condx were."
VE7FO Boy, did that suck or what? Once
again, invited some folks for contest training. Cndx were
so bad that one of them didn't make any Qs. No one to call.
No one answering CQs. No sigs on 10 or 15. No CQ test heard
on 40 or 80.
VK2GWK poor conditions and hardly any Europeans to be heard.....
VK2WL I FOUND THE BAND CONDITIONS TO BE
A BIT UNFAVOURABLE AND ALTHOUGH I COULD HEAR MANY STATIONS
THEY COULDNT RECEIVE ME ON MY MEDIUM POWER AND DIPOLE ANTENNAS.
I'LL BE BACK NEXT YEAR THOUGH.
VK4TT I must say have had better condx
on all bands
VO1AU Conditions seemed poor, and QRN
levels were very high.
VO1TA Always enjoy this contest, pity
the conditions were so poor. Could only hear the big stations.
Hope to cu all next year under better conditions.
VU3DJQ ENJOYED WORKING WITH MY HOMEMADE
TRX
VY2/W1MO SOLAR FLARES ENDED THE CONTEST
PREMATURELY. ALL BANDS WIPED OUT. BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR!
VY2/W1OH Only had a short time to get
on (hey, vacation is vacation, right?!!) but had fun anyway.
Sure wish conditions had been better!
W1AJT/VE3 Really terrible conditions here
for the most part. Only heard one station (non-IOTA) from
1000Z to 1145Z on 20m Sunday.conditions
were better.
W2UDT POOR CONDITIONS. DID MANAGE TO WORK
A FEW NEW IOTA. TNX TO ALL THE IOTA OPS!
W3TN No stations heard on 10M; not many
low power stations on 15 and 20M. Heard only 2 stations
from Japan here on the East coast.
W5FO Terrible conditions--see you next
year. W7KID terrible conditions but had fun
W9OL always a fun contest but dampened
by the poor conditions. I'll be back next year though. I
worked a few SSB, only because I couldn't hear any more
cw.
WA0WHT Signals were quite weak. Heard
auroral flutter Saturday night.
WA4JA/P Tried to active NA085, Shell Is
in Expedition Class, but rental boat had a motor problem
that would not allow for shallow water operation to allow
landing. Returned the boat to the marina and drove to Okaloosa
to activate it. Heat index of over 100 (F)
WA6NOL This was my first IOTA and I will
be back.
WB8YJF/4 Condx. were TERRIBLE during contest!
Very few EU, although a lot were loud here. CU next year!
WD9EWK Just submitting my two QSOs to
help with the log checking. Would have been a fun contest,
if propagation wasn't so poor. 73!
YC2ECG My first IOTA Contest!
YC3MM/M Mobile whip antenna is not so
good for this contest. Will use better one next year.
YL2PQ Tnx for nice contest!
YM0T Another fine contest DXpedition from
Kefken Island, AS-159.Antenna: Windom for 10 to 160, at
inverted position and balun 35 m above the ground. Made
1414 QSOs and about 1K points. Early in Sunday morning,
all bands were dead about 5 hours and 10 m was totally dead.
YO8RIX Very rough condx, because high
geomagnetic storm!
YU1WC "Poor propagation on high bands,
but lots of island activity.
YZ1V Nice contest as ever. Cu next year!
ZL/G3SQX It's hard from down under! And
the multi-ops still don't seem to be interested in multipliers.
Always fun, though.
ZL3TE Operated 8 Hours from OC201 mad
10 Q's came home operated 2 hours and made 50 Q's. Better
Location and antenna makes all the difference.
ZL3TE/P Was offered this operating site
3 days before the contest. Site unseen I accepted little
did I know it was in a deep Bowl with a great view to the
SOUTH! combined with Band condx made for a very SLOW contest.
10 QSO's in about 8 hours operating.
ZL6QH Poor conditions from New Zealand
- no openings on 28MHz, and difficult to crack European
pile-ups on 40m.
ZX7XX Heavy wind put down our low bands antenna
