A total of fifty-four stations competed for the 144MHz Backpackers Championship this year, an increase of nearly 39% over last year. At the top of the table, four stations (GW0PZO, GW8ZRE, M0AFC and GW5NF) ended up with the maximum score of 3000 points for their three best sessions.
As stated in the rules of this championship, in the event of a tie for first or second place, the scores for the fourth and if necessary the fifth session are taken into account to determine the overall winner. After taking the scores for the fourth session into account a clear winner and runner-up emerged.
