November 2003 CW Contest Results

Once again conditions were disappointing for this year, with nothing really outstanding to report. Nevertheless, we saw a small increase in entries over 2002. Many people reported deep QSB , but still good DX was worked – even with low power – a great feature of this contest – CW makes it so much easier, and there is great activity from high power stations in Europe. Clive Ohennessy, GM4VVX listened from home on the Saturday and didn’t hear a single station. However – in spite of this, and with snow on the surrounding hills, he was out portable by first light on Sunday and worked hard as usual for a small number of QSOs.

Winners and runners-up were quite clear in all sections, and congratulations go to all of them, however special mention should go to John Lemay, G4ZTR who amassed a bigger score in the Single Operator 6 hour section than the Windmill CG in the Open 6 hour section. All entries have been forwarded to ARI for inclusion in the Europe wide Marconi contest results.
