2nd 70 MHz Contest 2005

There was a slightly smaller entry for this contest compared with the 2004 event, and the number of QSOs made by both the section leaders was much reduced compared with the year before. There was a wide range of comments on the band conditions - several reported severe QRN, whilst several others said how quiet the band was! A couple of portable entrants in the north of the UK reported poor weather too which didn't help with contacts, or lift their spirits.

On a more positive note, contests on 70 MHz do help to maintain band activity, and persuade more people to have equipment and antennas for the band.

Some stations logging accuracy left a little to be desired, and when there are only a small number of QSOs available, logging errors have reduced the overall scores by a large margin in some cases.

Congratulations to Andy GD0TEP and Trevor G2KF for winning their sections, and to the other certificate winners.
