4^th 144MHz Backpackers Contest of 2006

Good weather and good band conditions were the theme reported by most of the entrants in this contest. Activity was high with most entrants able to work continental DX. Band conditions deteriorated after the first part of the contest however and some stations found it hard work after that.

In the 10W Multi-operator section G0HDV/P was the winner with the Wigan-Douglas Valley ARS, G3BPK/P in second place.

The 3W Multi-operator section was won by MD0SGB/P with the Malvern Hills "B" team, GW4IDF/P in second place.

The 10W Single Operator section was won by Derek Gilbert, G0NFA/P with Dave Hewitt, GW8ZRE/P in second place.

The 3W Single Operator section was won by Ron Price, GW4EVX/P with Nigel Ramsey, G6SFP/P occupying the runners-up spot.

The leading Intermediate Station certificate was won by Dave Cutts, 2E0EBV/P.
