A study of the logs shows that the number of stations regularly active during the 23 cm and 13 cm activity periods is significantly greater than the number of entries. On several occasions, one contact in 2 and a half hours was all that entrants had to show for their efforts, but if it delivered a new square then just maybe the elation will have made it worthwhile. For those located in JO 02 and 03 squares, the July session was THE one, with a splendid lift into Scandinavia. Logging standards were very good, with many faultless entries. However, where the table shows a zero, it does not necessarily mean no entry, but here and there, even after strenuous efforts to make a contact, the log failed to deliver even one which was error-free. The odd shack clock may also need attention, with some insisting that BST continues to December. On 23 cm, congratulations go to the South Birmingham RS station G8OHM - operated by Bob Thompson G8GDZ and Ian Gordon G8IFT - for the leading, and only, entrant in the Open section. The 23cm Single Operator section bouqet goes to John Quarmby G3XDY, with runner-up David Millard M0GHZ. These placings were replicated in the 13cm SF section also, so additional congratulations to John and David for their achievements. Yet again, Frank Laanen PE1EWR picks up an award for the leading overseas station on both 23 cm and 13cm. Certificates are awarded to all the aforementioned. Congratulations.
