2007 144 MHz UK Activity Contest & Club Championship

The entries for the 2m UK Activity Contest (UKAC) & Club Championship (CC) have continued to grow over the year with an average of 69 stations entering each session. In all, 130 stations entered the Single Operation Fixed Station section and 60 stations entered the Open section. A total of 31 Affiliated Societies submitted entries for the 2m Club Championship.

One Club (Cray Valley Radio Society) dominated the 2m Club Championship this year, winning 9 of the 12 sessions. The De Montfort University Amateur Radio Society won the remaining 3 sessions to claim the runners-up position.

One station (G4DEZ) dominated the Single Operation Fixed Station (SF) section by winning 9 of the monthly sessions. G3MEH (Aylesbury Vale Radio Society) was the runner-up.

In the Open section, four stations; M0BRA (Bracknell ARC), G4IRC/P (Ipswich RC), MW0OPS/P (Chepstow & DARC) and G3SDC/A (De Montfort University ARS) emerged as the dominant forces in this year's contest. The top honours in all 12 sessions were mainly shared between these stations.

One of the rule changes for 2007 required all stations to submit their logs by email. This enabled adjudication to be started within hours of the closing date for each session and permitted the results published on the VHFCC web site ([1]www.vhfcc.org) well before the date of the next session.

For the 2008 UKAC & CC the number of SF and Open sessions that count towards the final score has been increased from 6 to 8.
