70MHz Cumulative Contest 2008

The entry level was almost as high as last year & shows this set of contests is still very popular.

Throughout the 5 sessions, 197 different callsigns appeared in logs with a total of 2020 valid qso's. 3 non-UK stations were logged with GD4GNH successfully working S51DI as best dx throughout the contests. The 3rd session provided not only the best conditions but also the highest level of activity with 21 entries. The weather for the 4th session was described as being more like June than February and made the event even more enjoyable for the portable stations.

Comments were received from entrants regarding a portable station not always signing /p which will cause confusion & invalidate qso's, so please be sure to always use your full callsign when calling & working others.

The Flight Refuelling ARS, G4RFR win the Open section & G0HIK/P operated by Nick Gregory G0HIK & Ivan Davies G3IZD are runners-up. Robert Ferguson GD4GNH wins the Single Operator Fixed section & John Lemay G4ZTR is runner-up.
