RSGB VHF/UHF/SHF Contests 2007

The RSGB Contest Committee has revised the VHF General Rules relating to the use of the DX Cluster and other spotting/chat networks (including internet facilities for example ON4KST) in RSGB VHF and UHF contests. See here for details.

A new web based log entry system is now available for anyone who prefers not to use a computer based logging program. This will enable entrants to transfer their log after the contest into an electronic form. This should do away with the need for anyone to send in a paper-based log, although these will still be acceptable if an entrant has no access to the Internet. Click here to use the web based log entry system.

To speed up the adjudication process and help make possible the publishing of the UKAC contest results each month, these contests will be restricted to email or web entries only and must be received within 10 days of the contest date.

Due to the increasingly widespread availability of the 70MHz band outside of the UK the requirement to send the QTH information as part of the contest exchange on this band has been dropped.

The contest section “Multi Operator section (M)” used in a few RSGB VHF/UHF/SHF contests has been renamed as the “Open section (O)”.

Even if new licence regulations are introduced to make the use of the /P suffix optional when operating portable, portable stations will still be required to sign /P when taking part any VHFCC contest. All stations entering in VHF NFD must use the /P suffix. See General Rule 3(b) and VHF NFD Rule 3.

The RSGB VHF Contests Committee, which organises these contests, welcomes ideas, feedback and constructive criticism which can be e-mailed to chairman@vhfcc.org or sent to any committee member.
