Email entries are welcome and should be sent to vhf.entry@vhfcc.org

Please include in the email subject field the Group name and/or callsign of the entrant, followed by the contest name (as per the calendar), and the section entered.

e.g. G4CLA Jan 144MHz UKAC Section SF

This will greatly help us to process your entry.

The file names should consist of the callsign and the extension .LOG, .EDI or .COV, eg G9XXX-P.LOG. In multiband contests separate files must be used for each band. Where the same callsign is used on more than one band, add some reference to the band in the filename, after the callsign, eg G9XXX144.LOG.

These example file names are correct:-
G4CLA.LOG
G4CLA-P.LOG
G4CLA.COV
G4CLA.EDI
G4CLA_P.COV
In a multiband contest:-
G4CLA-1296.log
G4CLA-2320.log
G4CLA-70cms.edi

These examples are WRONG:-
vhfentry.log
ukac_march.log
070307.log
cover_sheet.txt
vhfnfd.log
April-UKAC-G4CLA.log

Files should be in REG1TEST format if possible, other acceptable file formats include .LOG from SDV, G0GJV, G3WGV and CONLOG programmes, RSGB standard format and ADIF. We will endeavor to work with any other reasonable format - please contact the VHFCC to discuss this.

Here is the RSGB format:-

Character
1 - 6 Date in YYMMDD format
8 - 11 Time in HHMM format
13 - 16 Band in MHz (embedded periods are allowed eg 1.8
18 - 20 Mode (A1A, J3E, F3E etc)
22 - 36 Callsign (left aligned)
38 - 40 RS(T) sent
42 - 45 Serial number / Power / Zone / State sent (contest dependent)
47 - 49 RS(T) received
51 - 54 Serial number / Power / Zone / State received (contest dependent)
56 - 59 New Bonus / Multiplier (country code / county code etc)
61 - 64 Points (Note: for VHF Contests only, character 60 may be used if the points exceed 9999)
66 - 71 Station Callsign/Operator Callsign for multi-op events
73 - 78 IARU Locator
80 - 80 "M" if this Locator is a new multiplier (Locator multiplier contests)
82 - 84 Postcode as given in the "UK county codes for HF and VHF contests" table
86 - 86 "M" if this Postcode is a new multiplier (Postcode multiplier contests)
88 - 90 Country code eg G, GI, GM, GW, F, DL
92 - 92 "M" if this country is a new multiplier (Country multiplier contests)
94 - 256 Free text for QTH information and/or comments. THIS FIELD MUST BE TERMINATED BY <CE>.
Zero point QSOs such as Duplicates, unfinished contacts or poor signal reports etc may
be explained here. This field should be left justified and may contain spaces but not tabs.

All other characters are spaces

If you format your own files, don't add page headers or make the format look like a normal paper entry, a list with one line per QSO is far easier to read.

e-mail entries should include a plain text file which contains the same information as the paper coversheet (form 427). . A suitable plain text template can be found at www.vhfcc.org/stationery/stationery.htm
